About Us
Since 2011
Our History
IFTIIN Woman Right Development Organization (IWRDO) is a humanitarian, non-profit organization founded in 1999 in Huddur, Bakool Region, Somalia. Established by a group of women, intellectuals, and community leaders from the Bay and Bakool regions, IWRDO aims to address the challenges faced by vulnerable groups, particularly women, children, and the elderly, in the aftermath of Somalia’s prolonged conflict.
Our organization operates primarily in the Bay and Bakool regions, focusing on community development, empowerment, and humanitarian aid. We are committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of society, fostering inclusive development, and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity, access education, and contribute to society.
Our Mission
To promote a cohesive community that empowers its members, especially women and children, through sustainable development initiatives, including education, income-generating activities, and peacebuilding. We advocate for gender equality and women’s rights, ensuring their active participation in leadership and decision-making processes.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create self-sufficient, independent communities with enhanced educational opportunities, economic growth, and social resilience. We aim to develop a society where women and children thrive in a peaceful and secure environment, free from harmful practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM).
